Brief biographical sketches of an Admiral and 49 Generals ( North and South) with accompanying richly printed Chromolithographic portrait,imprinted two per page. 4 additional full page Chromolithographs depicting ; Monitor and Merrimac Battle, The Commanders (Grant and Lee), Battle of Gettysburg and The Battle of Manassas ( 2nd Bull Run). Oblong 4to. 10.5"x6.75". Bound in half cloth and Chromolithographic pictorial flexible boards.

Mild, sporadic staining to covers, with crease to bottom corner of front cover. Rear cover presents light chipping to edges with a 1"x1.5" piece of the bottom corner lacking. Chromolithographs are remarkably well preserved, still retaining their jaw-dropping deep luminescence. A bright, crisp copy.
