A delicate, brilliantly executed example of late 19th century miniature book design, this title presents biblical quotations in a devotional format- with one phrase for each morning and evening of a month. Lovely chromolithographs are interspersed throughout the text. This title is exceptionally rare, with OCLC listing only several Library Special Collections possessing a copy of it.
Front cover a bit rubbed and darkened with gilt decoration somewhat dulled. Like condition affecting gilded edges. Previous owner's pencil gift inscription to verso of front free endsheet. Sporadic light foxing throughout. A Near Fine, well preserved copy of an extraordinarily rare miniature.
